Choose activities that allow you to interact and get to know your date. Movies are a popular dating choice, but because they are a passive activity, they are not always ideal for learning about your dating partner. Plan activities where you can communicate verbally and flirt if you feel inclined too. Activities like bowling, hiking, mini-golf and board games all give you a chance to talk and banter back and forth. Movies can give you something to talk about as well, but if you choose to watch a movie make sure to include dinner before or a walk afterwards so that the entire date is not spent staring at a screen instead of looking at your partner.
Flirting is good; being sexually aggressive is not. Touching, hugging and kissing might be fine if you feel some chemistry, but be respectful and not too quick to try to advance beyond what is appropriate for a first date. Women and men like to be respected and appreciated, so act accordingly.
Be original. Whatever activities you choose to participate in, your date will be most memorable if you have a sense of humor and if you do something unique and original that makes the date stand out. You do not have to be mysterious, but if you are fun, spontaneous and original, your date will want to see you again.
Dating can be both challenging and exciting, but it need not be stressful. With a few tips in mind, you can ensure that your date goes well and that you will get another opportunity to meet your partner further on down the road to a long-term relationship that is mutually satisfying.
